hi guys sorry for not updating these days but i went this thursday night to see duran duran: a hollywood high so i will leave my opinion/review here :)
school is really consuming my will to live fr
duran duran is one of my favorite bands of all time so i couldn't let this chance of seeing a ''concert'' of them (their last concert in my country was before i became a fan </3)
the first 10-15 minutes were about why they chose hollywood and their memories of that place, showing us how they felt on their first trip to LA and their first concert there. it is also a very important place to them since that's where they signed with capitol records. after this introductory mini documental, we get to see the performance (sadly they have cut 3 songs that were part of the original performance). they chose to perform on a rooftop in front of capitol records, lighting it up with the lights of the stage and in one part, with yellow and blue colors to show support for ucraine, i dont know but if they do but i hope some of the money from this movie/concert goes to some ucraine shelter on the uk or something and that they just dont do it for the show.
i dont really remember exactly which songs they performed in what order bc i went with someone that never stopped distracting me in the cinema but they performed some of the classics (a view to a kill, hungry like the wolf, pressure off, white lines, and of course come undone and ordinary world) and some future past songs (anniversary was my favourite).
the audio quality of the movie was very involving, you could really feel like you were really there in that concert and the performance was also very energetic and you could hear the love in simons voice, but i think that the public was kind of boring, they just stood in place recording with their phones and didn't scream at all, if i was there i would have screamed my lungs out and i would be jumping and dancing like a fool
it's a really good movie if you like duran duran and wanna know the 1982-1984 stuff and the actual stuff too, since there was footage of how future past was made (fun fact: graham coxon helped!!) and if you like the good old classics but wanna listen to something new too
i give it a 9/10 because i wished the concert was longer and bc the people at my cinema were really boring they didn't applaud nor cheer when the song ended and they didn't applaud when the movie ended, i was the one that had to start it there
i also went with a duran-esque outfit (white shirt on top of black tshirt with white shorts, red accesories and a silver necklace) but it was kind of basic since i could say that i was the 3rd best dressed of that place, there was a dude who looked right out of the band, with a similar hairstyle to simons in 2010 and the classic leather jacket with tight pants, and of course, a dd shirt (i dont own any merch except of some old cd booklets that probably my mom has thrown away)
i took a photo with the poster but im too ugly and fat rn so i will just leave a low quality photo of the poster as proof that i was there lol
see you soon :D
